Are you interested in doing special effect make-up for the movies, or maybe something else in the entertainment or artistic industry? There is a great website called getinmedia.com that gives you information about many of the careers in movie, television, gaming, and live events. HERE is the link to more information about special effect make up artists.

NEW ELECTIVES HAVE BEEN ADDED!
Canyon has hired a new technology teacher! We are very excited to announce that we will have computer classes next year. Here are two of the classes that you can sign up for now!
The Web Development class will train students to create and manage websites with the eventual goal of maintaining and updating our very own Canyon High School website.
The Computer Applications in Business class will be an introductory course to the Microsoft Office Suite and the programs associated with it such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. This course will allow students to better use and fully understand the capabilities these programs offer for classroom activities and assignments and when they transition to college and/or career.
Both of these courses will count as a practical art. Even if you are done with your practical art, you can still take this course as one of your electives. If you are interested, please see or email your counselor.

End the year with a positive note.
Cowboys, as you work hard to get those last few assignments in before finals, please don't forget that the Canyon faculty and staff are working just as hard.....for you.
Now is a good time to think about the teachers, counselors, librarians, assistants, custodians, coaches, administrators, and office staff that have been a part of your school year. If you haven't done so before, we would like to encourage you to write a Canyon Kudo! Telling our staff that they have done a good job helps to motivate us. Even a small note of thanks makes a world of difference. HERE is the link to the Canyon Kudos. THANKS!!!
