One of the most popular career choices for Canyon Cowboys is "something" in the medical field. Many of you aren't sure exactly what you want to do, but you know it will have something to do with anatomy.
COC is having an Open House to show off their Sports Medicine Program. They will show you the facilities, let you meet the instructors and current students, and share all about what a career in Sports Medicine would be like.
This is a great opportunity for those of you that are thinking of doing "something"! The Open House will be on Wednesday, April 30th from 3:00-7:00 pm. Stop by anytime in that time period. Planning Ahead
We have a lot of students asking about dates in the future, like "What is the last day of school?" or "When does school start next year?" Did you know that there is a district calendar that has all the important dates for this year, and next year? HERE is the link. Click on the school year calendar of your choice.
Just to help you, here are some of the important dates that are coming up:
April 28th: Lunch time meeting in G- 228 for students attending the College Fair Fieldtrip
May 1st: College Fair Fieldtrip (there are only a couple of seats left!)
June 6th: Last Day of School
July 1st: The first day of summer school. (Unless you are attending the special education summer program at Valencia. Then your first day is June 30th).
When we come back for the beginning of the school year, here are some important dates:
August 4th: Senior Registration
August 5th: Junior Registration
August 6th: Sophomore Registration
August 7th: Freshman Registration
August 8th: Make-up Registration
The first day of school will be August 14th.
You will hear more of this from us later, but you should make every attempt to attend Registration. It is the only time you can sit down with your counselor once your schedule is done and work out any issues. After registration you have to fill out the change request forms and you don't get the opportunity to talk with your counselor one on one. If at all possible, please plan your vacations in such a way that you can attend registration.
